NZ Snow 2012

We went to New Zealand for a shorter snowtrip of 6 days.

4 days on the snowfields

we stayed in Wanaka (1 hour away from Queenstown)

and we stuck to the Cardrona field as a favourite for us all

we tried Treble Cone but it was pretty icey

Queenstown is about a 3 hour flight from Sydney

the actual town center is about 10mins away from the airport.

we noticed there has been alot more developments with new apartments and resorts

for the busy snow seasons popping up there too.

first stop.. Fergburger

massive bun but its squashable. Fergburger makes their own bread too

but nothing colourful for the female stuff :(

i liked all the mens stuff but theyre too big for me

and the fountain is blood.with cute little tampons hhahaha

i also saw a cute K2 board with a cute cartoon character that i liked too hehe

Both snowfields was bout 30min drive from Wanaka.

Snow NSW 2012

Went to our yearly snowtrip with another couple

we have been doing this for the last 3 years so its become our tradition :P

lots of farm land and mountains on the way there

Jindy is about a 6 hour drive from sydney

we stop about half way for lunch

we stayed at the same accomodation

in a studio appartment in Jindy

which is a 30min drive to the snowfields of Thredbo and Perisher

we spent 6 days on the snow, 3 days per snowfield

i think i prefer Perisher as it has more beginner ones i can practice my turns on.

the 1st 3 days were pretty windy, the snow got blown off the mountains so it got abit icey after awhile =\

then it snowed on the 4th day.

usually the snow only stays on top of the snowfields

its pretty dry with no snow down the montain etc and in the towns

it snowed all the way to jindy that day tho!!

and then we had nice sunny/cloudy days for the last 2 days :)

on the way back to sydney we stopped at grandma's instead of maccas

was pretty nice! alot better then maccas

we got scones

my friend had a spinich cheese thingy

nice steps outside grandmas

a church near grandmas

grandma's is on an olive grove too

will have to add that to our tradition :P



Painting feature walls

Just before our snowtrip, with some help from Tom,

we went to paint the feature walls.

we set off to Bunnings for supplies, looked at the different colours and effects

 Tom looked at some plants he wanted to add to his garden while we were there

he selected this colour as an idea for feature wall

im not much of a greeny yellow person.. looks abit retro to me

or how to match it

we selected the above 4 colours. i went with the baby blue instead

on the way home we saw smoke.. turned out they were burning the grass right around where our house development is =\ was pretty scary

they closed off the main road so we had to go around the back.

you can smell the smoke.. and there was a thin layer of ash on the car

good thing it didnt come near our property tho. the grass is on the other side of the trees surrounding the development area.

we taped up and papered up the sides of the walls we were to paint.

yet the paint still bleed through the special painting tape =\

i had to go back a week after to touch up the sides.

and voila!

where you can see the criss crossed brush effects

the dark brown grey media room wall

it was in a stone effect which has a rough sandpapery feel

a light champagne metallic livingroom wall

also with some paint stroke effects

and our baby blue matt bedroom wall :P

its a bright sky blue..

it did sorta look like a nursery colour after we were done hehe

oh well.. i like my blues.

High Tea @ Waterbar

My lovely friends got me a birthday voucher for High Tea for 2 at the Blue hotel

Waterbar in woolloomooloo.

i went with my fiance inbetween our snow trips.

quite a nice place, we went on a weekday so it was quite empty

great friendly service even though we were the only customers :P

the location is in a refurbished pier warehouse. pretty cool.

half hotel and half private appartments.

started off with water

then some bubbly

scones and desserts with cakes

interestingly.. warm food, chicken skewer, prawns and dumplings

a healthy ham cheese salad sandwich and eggplant sandwich

finishing with coffee or tea
