The Dark Knight

Watched this movie.. imax style.. @_@ huge screen.. barely saw everything thru my peripheral vision let along direct vision.. the moving shots were abit blurry cause it was so big on the big screen..
i got a pretty ok seat too.. right at the top.. could just see everything on the screen.. i was on the very side too.. wonder how the people seated below could see anything @_@
anyways.. was a great movie.. loved the batman gadgets :D some really cool stuff.. like the bike.. car.. crashed lambourghini (expensive owch) :P .. soundwave tv thingy..
amazing acting by all.. the joker was an interesting character.. he may be crazy with no rules.. but he did have some intelligent ideas and theories throughout the movie...
also got to see the start of the villian 'two face' i dont really follow the comic so i didnt really figure it out till the end :P

Dralion

me and sis took mum to dralion :D

Mum usually likes the cirque du soleil stuff but only seen it on tv.

this one was ok.. i think i liked last years one better. this one didnt have much of a story line..
less death defying acts also..

they had some really cool trampoline stuff.. the clowns were funny too..

some amazing costumes with bold colours and great patterns n textures.

we got a pretty good seat too :D right in the middle.. hehe..
some of the performances i sort of recognise from last years one.. but still enjoyable.

Get Smart

I sort of remember the tv series of Get Smart from ages ago.. the guy being a bit of an idiot and the girl covering his ass all the time..

the movie was ok .. though as one of my friends comment on the movie was quite correct..
in the old tv series the guy was quite an idiot.. but in the movie he was actually quite smart.. but bit of a clutz... lol

recognised quite a few other celebs in this movie :D

how cool are these?!?!

Ice cream skill testers hit japan games centers

Game maker Atlus has come up with a UFO catcher specifically designed to dish out ice cream, the Triple Catcher Ice -25. All the important selling points are in the name: the crane game uses a three prong claw designed to resemble a scoop and maintains a temperature of -25C to ensure that the frozen treats are solid enough to avoid harm from play. In addition, the Triple Catcher can be played by up to 4 people at once, but requires only the amount of electricity needed to power one machine.

Smart Car vending machine in Shibuya

Holding a full-size Smart Car, the faux vending machine has two choices (coupe and cabrio), and a convenient slot to insert the amount you need (about $20k). Of course, this is a concept only, but is a nice extension of their already creative vending machine idea that fits right into the Japanese love for instant gratification on-the-go. Besides, could you do this with any other car without it seeming like a big joke?

Pushing the button on the vendor won’t exactly pop out a car, but it does dispense a branded tube containing pamphlets on the new models, dealer information, and a sheet of Smart Car stickers featuring the available colors.

Pecha Kucha Ku-Cha from Daiwa Toys isn’t quite what we pictured our robot sidekick to look like.

Actually he (she?) is a whole lot cuter. Despite the decidedly non-tech appearance, this little cartoon colored bear has a built in voice recognition function that can respond to simple questions and statements.

Ask Ku—Cha for the time or your daily horoscope and the wide-eyed bear will cheerfully reply from the speakers built into his armchair. He can also make simple conversation: tell Ku—Cha good morning and he’ll reply, tell him you are back and he’ll say “welcome home.”

Itazura Na Kiss

the greatest kiss

Itazura na Kiss tells the love story of Kotoko and Naoki from their days as high school students to their marriage. The story continues after the marriage as they continue to grow as a couple. The story starts with Kotoko finally building up the courage to confess to Naoki Irie by giving him a love letter but was rejected in front of everybody. After that humiliating moment, she decided to give up on her love for Naoki. That same day, the Aihara's newly-built home was destroyed during a mild earthquake due to poor construction. They ended up staying in the Irie household thus starting the development of their relationship.

Whisper of the Heart

Part of the Studio Ghibli collection - Miyazaki Hayao Collection

The first animated movie by these talented directors and artists that i have seen from memory is "My Neighbour Totoro".

I remember this movie and hold a fondness to these animated movies. i have seen a few other stories from this series of individuall stories that i also like: Spirited Away, Howls moving Castle.

Great fantasy stories of the unusual and wonderful.. the writer of these stories is a great storyteller.
Some stories have abit of romance in it too :)

First time i have seen the below animated movie.. and i am adding it to my favourites :D

yes yes.. its abit.. romantic too.. :P blah..

amazing how such young kids can have so much maturity and direction of where they are going in life so early on.. much more then what i can say for myself =\

Alternative title : Mimi wo sumaseba

Shizuku lives a simple life, dominated by her love for stories and writing. One day she notices that all the library books she has have been previously checked out by the same person: 'Seiji Amasawa'.
Curious as to who he is, Shizuku meets a boy her age whom she finds infuriating, but discovers to her shock that he is her 'Prince of Books'. As she grows closer to him, she realises that he merely read all those books to bring himself closer to her.
The boy Seiji aspires to be a violin maker in Italy, and it is his dreams that make Shizuku realise that she has no clear path for her life. Knowing that her strength lies in writing, she tests her talents by writing a story about Baron, a cat statuette belonging to Seiji's grandfather.

You can see Shizuka's story in 'The Cat Returns'

Completed Series I've been watching

The Wallflower

Released: 2006
Episodes: 25

Four beautiful high school boys, Takano Kyouhei, Oda Takenaga, Mori Ranmaru, and Toyama Yukinojo rent a house (more like a mansion) so they can go to school. Their landlady then gives them a opportunity to have free rent if, and only IF, they can change her niece, Nakahara Sunako, into a respectable, elegant lady.
Once the boys had met Sunako, they find that she's not really like other girls. She's gothic, loves the supernatural, watch horror/slasher films, can kick ass, and even keeps two anatomy dolls and a skeleton as her best friends.

~
A fun anime to watch as the girls character is quite extreme.. still a lovely anime to watch the bond between friends and seeing how the main character grows and changes.

Nodame Cantabile

Released: 2007

Alternative Title:のだめカンタービレ (Japanese)

Chiaki is left to pursue his dream of being a composer while surrounded by a bunch of loser musicians and one annoying girl, Noda, who has proclaimed herself Chiaki's girlfriend. It doesn't help that Noda, who insists on being called Nodame, lives right next door to him.
